Voiceover
I enjoy using my voice to bring stories to life, especially juvenile and YA fiction or eLearning. I have a neutral American sound with clear articulation. My voice has a bright tone and mid to high pitch. I have been volunteering with Learning Ally, mainly narrating the Fablehaven series. With my in-home studio, I can turn around work quickly, including basic de-clicking and breath reduction. Teaching
I taught science for 10 years, 8 of which was at the K-12 level. My favorite part of the job was figuring out how to break down complex topics into manageable pieces and find ways to make things engaging. I also enjoyed creating systems (such as utilizing spreadsheets) to streamline my teaching and evaluation and sharing those tools with others. While I'm excited to move on to a new chapter of life, I am grateful for the many soft skills I honed while teaching, such as collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving.
Board Games
Besides reading , my favorite hobby is playing board games! There are many health and social benefits that it provides, including family bonding time. (Both of our children play, too, even though they're young!) They also help teach emotional coping skills when you lose (which is fairly often for me).
